Self Portrait And Portrait

Capture You

My last tip is to use the images below only loosely as inspiration. A self-portrait should be a very personal expression, not simply a mirror of something you've seen elsewhere. Think about who you want to be and how you want to say that. Use props, scenery, pose and lighting conditions to convey your personality. And most of all, have fun!

Portray emotion:

Want your photos to look boring, then act bored. The facial and body expressions you make are huge in setting the tone of the photo. This is where having a tethered setup can really help (you will be able to see results and nail it down). Aim for over the top, I mean really go crazy. The more emotion you show the better the photo will turn out.

Coming up with ideas:

Time to talk about technique. I think where most people get stuck on self portraits is the coming up with ideas (I know I struggle here). What really got me going was thinking about what I own and how I could use it in a photo. Now I am not just talking about props, but I am talking about features also. One of my prominent features is my bald head. So could I work that to my advantage?

                                                            Environmental Portrait

In both the environmental photos i like the fact that the both ready, both train hard until a tournament or battle. I can relate to these photos which is another reason why i like them.

                                                            Casual Portrait

I like both these casual photos because it people just enjoying each others company.

Formal Portrait

I like these photos that are formal because I'm in Jrotc , so i can relate to the uniform, and also in a way dream that i will be like them one day.

Self Portrait

I really like these self portraits because it people coming up with very creative and amazing photos of them selfs.

                                           Planing Ahead
For the self portrait i have an idea of taking of photo of me in my Kung Fu uniform and doing some sort of kicks, preferably a jumping kick. ill either do it outside, of inside a dojo, I will also maybe even have a friend in training hold a target for me to kick.
